Simply sign up to a new brokerage firm and initiate the transfer with the new firm. A transfer can be done as an Automated Customer Account Transfer Service (ACATS) which takes around 3-6 business days, or a manual transfer that can take up to 30 days. Just so you know, there can be fees associated with both transfers, typically around $50 per account for ACATS or around $15 per position for a manual transfer.
